ORC

What is Organized Retail Crime?

Organized retail crime (ORC) is the theft of retail merchandise with the intent to resell the items for financial gain. ORC involves a group of individuals who steal large quantities of merchandise from retailers then converts the stolen goods into cash. Stolen items can be sold through online sites, personal sales, pawn shops and to other retailers. ORC differentiates from ordinary shoplifting committed by individuals seeking goods for personal use.

Mission

Collaborate efforts to combat organized retail crime & other crimes.

Goals

To stop or disrupt ORC groups and individuals from committing crimes.

Advocacy

Advocate to strengthen laws and assist efforts to combat retail theft.

Communication

Provide a means for LE & Retailers to share intelligence.

Our platform is designed to empower retailers and the communities they serve to reduce loss, crime, and harm. We believe that this problem is not solved by one, but by a collection of people connected in a single platform, with a shared goal of protecting communities for the greater good.
